Dear Tom and Ray:
My new car has pink coolant in it. is it OK if I add Prestone (green coolant) to the reservior?
Carla
Tom: Mix pink with green? Have you no sense of taste, Carla?? Those colors clash horribly. I guess you've never seen my brother's kitchen. It got an award from "Battered Homes and Gardens."
Ray: You can put in whatever you want, Carla. For some reason, coolants come in different colors these days. Some are green, some are pink, and some are even yellow. And unless you're an interior engine decorator, the color makes no difference. It's all the same stuff.
Tom and Ray lead you step by step through the process of finding and buying
a reliable used car in their pamphlet How to Buy a Used Car: Things That
Detroit and Tokyo Don't Want You to Know. To order, To order, send (check or money order) to Ruin, P.O. Box 536475, Orlando, FL 32853-6475. You can also order online.
