Puzzler Answer: Father and Son Visit Pyramids of Egypt
RAY: This was sent in by Jason Rhodes from some place in I don't know, AOL-ville. Here it is. In his youth a young man took a trip to visit the Great Pyramids of Egypt. He was deeply moved by the trip. Years later he decided to take his own son to see the Pyramids. Till then the son had never been away from home, but here's the catch. The man made his first trip to the Pyramids in 1995. And he took his son to see them in 1969. How is this possible? Now, before you start thinking about uh, "I'm My Own Grandpa."
TOM: Or prime numbers. Yeah. This is one of those, you hear the answer and you say, aw, I'm going to kick your butt. I'm going to kick your butt man.
RAY: Well, yeah. No --
TOM: It's so good though. It is good.
RAY: I think it's good.
TOM: I mean what other solution could there be?
RAY: Well, there could be uh, my own grandpa or something like that.
TOM: I worked on my own grandpa thing and I --
RAY: No, what you got to think about is how long the pyramids have been around.
TOM: Yeah.
RAY: And, in fact, while the father may have taken his trip in 1995, that was 1995 BC. And 26 years later in 1969 he and his son went.
TOM: Oh yeah.
RAY: Pretty good, huh?
TOM: The winner is 14-year-old Sarah Davidson. No kidding. From Bethesda, Maryland.
