Reviewers Comments:

These guys are straightforward human beings - good guys! I had a chance to buy a Jag at a good price. When I asked, the only response was 'no'. They did me a big favor! I'm not the kind of guy who likes expensive, overpriced parts & unnecessary labor. On the other hand, they keep my '87 Caravan going & I need it for work. They don't pile on when it comes to what needs to be done, and they stand behind what they do. Blue colors over blue blood.

I have been to CK twice. The first time was for a simple oil change. At that time I asked them to take a look at my brakes. They did so without charging me, and gave me an estimate of what the repair cost would be. Five months later I returned to get the brakes taken care of. I brought in the estimate (which they had provided a hard copy of) and left the car with them. Kevin, the guy who I talked to, was very professional. He said he would call first if they needed to do any additional work on the brakes. Sure enough, I needed new front brake pads. He gave me estimates for two different brands, asked if I wanted to go ahead with the pads, and gave me an approximate finish time for the work. When I picked up the car (very soon thereafter) he showed me the breakdown on the bill, and then proceded to surprise me by saying, "I don't know what our guys saw when we gave you the estimate on the rear brakes back in January, but they look fine. You won't need work on them for quite a while. I couldn't bring myself to charge you for work that you didn't need to have done." He also deducted the charge for brake alignment that he gave in the estimate, saying that it was part of the package with the pad replacement. All in all I was very impressed with the quality of service, not to mention the speed, of CK's mechanics. In both cases I was able to drop the car off and pick it up the same day I called. Kevin's professionalism is a big plus too, explaining in detail the work to be done, the recommended work, and the cost (which seemed pretty competitive).

I've been to CK for various repairs to my car. Chris and James have always been friendly, hoenst, and straight- forward with the work that my car would need. Their work has been thorough and completed in a timely manner. As a woman, I really appreciate the fact that they don't make me "feel like a girl" or dummy down the problems. I fell comfortable asking questions, and their answers were appropriate and helpful. They are there to make an honest living doing something at which they are very talented.

Great guys. Do what they say and NEVER try to gouge you. They won't do "extra" work to pad the bill. In fact, they do the opposite. They'll let you know that you can safely get more miles out of whatever they are looking at. Hardly a shop out there that will do that.

What's more valuable than an honest mechanic? (Remember that Seinfeld episode?) Not a lot. The guys are straightforward, they stick to their estimates, if something happens they're forthcoming and they deal with it like professionals, and above and beyond that they're genuinely nice, which all makes for a little peace of mind at the end of the day, even if I did just shell out a few hundred bucks. If you own a car you absolutely need to know a good mechanic and now I do.

I've worked with both Kevins (there are 2), over the course of 3 different cars spanning about 3 or 4 years. As a woman, I'm always alert for being scammed or taken advantage of and these guys just don't do it. They are frequently available on minimal notice. -they give and stick to their estimates. -they give me their homest opinion as to the level of urgency for the stated problem. (In some cases, I've chosen to live with the problem rather than the expense of fixing it.) -they do the work in one business day -they call me with news/updates -they have affordable rates -they stand by their work -give clear explanations about what and why -they respond respectfully if I've got questions about the work after it was completed.

I've been using this shop for years - one time I needed a sensor replaced, and got an estimate from another shop. These guys looked at it and told me to take it to the OTHER place, since they couldn't even get the PART for the whole estimate these guys were giving (maybe it fell off a truck?). I like a mechanic who's willing to send you to a different shop if they can't handle the job. They've also done free work - my muffler came detached, and they tossed it up on the lift and welded it back on. No charge. Fixed a broken bead on my WHEELBARROW tire, for gosh sake - no charge. They're terrific.

They have always fixed my cars in a timely fashion. I even recommended them to my son who now brings his car there.
