Reviewers Comments:
There is no one else I would let work on my 200,000+ mile Nissan pick-up. Even the times I've tried to fix it my self and failed, Pete has bailed me out. His partner, Pete Petite, is equally talented with a wrench. I've recommended these guys to any number of my friendsand they have always been very happy with the results. The only disapointment I have is that they only work on imports. I wish I could find someone as dependable to work on my wife's Ford Conture.

I found Pete's on the internet (wouldn't have seen it
driving by since they are hidden behind a garden shop) and
I couldn't be happier with their service. They fixed an
emissions problem on my car that had been misdiagnosed by
several mechanics and "fixed" twice before. And they
charged about half what the previous attempts had! They
dropped me off at work and had the repairs done quickly--
and they explained what they had done without treating me
with the "you're female you couldn't possibly understand"
that I sometimes get from other mechanics.

I'm very particular about who works on my vehicle (2002
Mazda Protege LX). This is my fouth car and I just don't
have the time nor location to do repairs myself anymore. I
found Petes' Import Garage via this web site and the two
times I've talked to them on the phone were very good. They
called me back when they said they would and the actual cost
of repairs was in line with what they quoted for a front end
brake job including replacing the rotors. All-in-all a good
experience. I would definitely recommend this shop.

I tried Pete's Garage because of proximity and price. I bought my Honda Civic from my boyfriend last year, he already had a reliable mechanic, but the mechanic was way the heck out from my house, so I wanted to find someone closer. I found Pete's on this website, so I called and spoke to Pete (there are actually two Petes, they are co-owners). He was very friendly and accommodating. Then I called the mechanic my boyfriend used to use, since he trusted them. Their price for the same job was $100 more, and being a little lean on cash, I decided to try Pete's. I am very happy with the work they did on my car, and they are both very pleasant to speak with. They've been in business since the '80s, and until about 2 years ago, didn't even have a sign out front because all their business was word-of-mouth. That's an endorsement in and of itself, I think.

It was the first time I actually felt I was dealing with an
honest mechanic. I will be taking my car back for all
future work.

These guys are just superb.

My poor little 93 Civic was having a number of problems at once - when it rains, it pours! After hearing other estimates, I was happy that Pete's Import Garage came in about $250 cheaper than my ex-mechanic (yep, there's a new flame in town!). Not only were they cheaper, but sympathetic and smart enough to realize that my rear main seal was not leaking oil as I had heard elsewhere. Among the list of more serious problems, Pete and Pete took the time to fix up the minor annoyances which I hadn't even told them about, just as a kind service. They also kept good phone contact with me over the few days they had the car, and didn't charge me a storage fee while I had been out of town over the weekend. What a great experience! My Honda is healthy again and ready for some more of my abuse!

Nice people who take the time to explain what's wrong, cost of fixing the problem, and options. Did not feel like I was getting ripped off/lied to in this garage because I was female. AND ONE OF THE BEST PARTS OF ALL - when they couldn't fix something, they said so at the beginning and didn't attempt the repair.
--reviewer #49676, 2003
I used to go put forth a lot of effort to double check
everything and question my mechanic just to be sure I
wasn't being ripped off and usually I was never completely
satisfied I had succeeded. So I was relieved when I found
Pete's. Pete and Peter have a completely different
attitude that is evident as soon as you meet them. They
are honest, thorough and knowledgeable. The best
mecahanics I've found in Atlanta.

I have been dealing with these guys for about 6 or 7 years
and would not think of taking my Toyota to another place.
Never had a complaint and they have done some major jobs
on my cars. One of the greatest things about their
service is I have occasionally had minor light problems
and they have serviced the car within minutes. Easy and
friendly and a real asset to our community. Thorough,
timely and competent. Don't get any better than that.
You people out in the burbs don't know what your missing!

I've been taking my Toyotas and Nissans to Pete and Pete for
almost 20 years. I have always been pleased with their
honesty, fairness, competence, friendliness, intelligence,
and the fact that their business name is grammatically
correct. (Petes' Import Garage: plural possessive)(these
things are important to me.) It'll be a sad day when they
retire.

Ridiculously wonderful garage. I'm a first time car owner
and Pete does an incredible job of demystifying what happens
under the hood. He'll tell you if something's serious or
not, he'll tell you if you really need a mechanic or there's
another solution to the problem, and he'll spend a good
amount of time answering your questions and talking to you
about your options without charging you for it. Really,
you'll walk away feeling grateful, educated, and undeserving.

These guys are the best. I'm consistently suprised at the
quality of work they do. On two occasions in particular,
they've gone above and beyond my expectations. The first
time my truck was running rough and I realized a bolt was
missing. I brought it to the shop to see if they had a
replacement, they dropped everything to look at the
problem, then when they didn't have the part advised
picking one up at the hardware store for $1. The next
time I was convinced my starter was blown, and advised
them as much. Turned out is was just a loose wire. They
rock!

Incredibly accommodating, swift, communicative & friendly!
As I've just moved to the area, I didn't know quite who to
turn to when my Nissan began churning out some thumping
drumlikebeats from the back brakes - Found them on CarTalk
& gave a call: Pete took a look the same day, and returned
it quiet and smooth the next along with a comprehensive
explanation of the problem. Will definitely go back if
anything else turns up!

Pete and Pete are the best! They have worked on all of our
family?s Hondas for several years and do a great job at a
great price. If you live in Downtown or Midtown Atlanta
these guys are a must. We will never step foot in the
service department of a Honda dealer again. Thanks guys!
--reviewer #79486, 2006
These guys are great. My dad has been going to them for years and never takes
our family cars to any other mechanics. When I got my first car, it came with
numerous problems, and they fixed all the ones that needed to be fixed and left
alone pricier, unnecessary fixes. They are very honest, pleasant people. I would
highly recommend them to anyone.
--reviewer #91407, 2007
Peter Peteet has worked on both of our cars and always
does a good job. He is honest and will tell you whether
or not he feels a particular repair or maintenance is
necessary now, or can be deferred a bit. it is easy to
work with this shop.
--reviewer #92859, 2007
I will not take my car anywhere else. One of the rare
qualities that I really value is the honesty. Imagine
that, an honest mechanic!

I work in a rural town about two hours from Atlanta. After
three failed attempts to have my car repaired at the local
mechanic I found Pete's Import Garage through this
website. I dropped off my Volvo before leaving the
country. They gave me a ride to the MARTA station and I
picked it up in perfect condition on my way back. They
replaced a $40 part (something like a fuel injector relay
switch) that the other mechanics might not have even
realized existed, and tuned up a few other things.
Almost a year later, I drove through the middle of the
night to Atlanta for fear of taking my car back to a local
mechanic who wrongly told me I just needed new spark
plugs. Peter Petite was courteous the next day and told me
exactly what the problem was. These guys are the most
competent mechanics I've met. I just wish that they were a
little bit closer to my rural town.

When I lived in Atlanta, I took a Volvo, and 2 pickups to Petes' Garage. Peter and
Pete are incredibly nice guys and very different from most mechanics. Both value
honesty and have high standards when it comes to working on anyone's car,
whether it's a valuable import or a used clunker.
I highly recommend them even though I no longer live in the area.
--reviewer #110646, 2008
Being new to Atlanta last year, I went to the cartalk website to look for one that I
could trust. Found Pete's Garage and they have been fantastic! Trustworthy!
Explain everything, are never condescending. Highly recommend them.
--reviewer #117364, 2008
Pete Lussier has done a great job on all my cars. I'll
always go to Pete first! He's also a great fiddle player
too.
--reviewer #117250, 2008
Petes' is great! We discovered them via the Car Talk
listings, and they've taken great care of my girlfriend's
Geo Prizm. They're prompt, polite, have reasonable prices,
and best of all they do great work. Heck, they even agreed
to work on my Saab/Subaru!
--reviewer #131384, 2008
My wife and I have been taking cars to Petes' Import Garage
for almost 30 years and are still very happy with their
service. We began going to them when we lived in Atlanta and
have continued since moving 50 miles out of Atlanta. We are
willing to put up with a great deal of inconvenience in
exchange for the peace of mind that goes with taking our
cars to them.
--reviewer #135137, 2009
Good people, good price, good place, and most importantly, they looked just
like me. You know, a not entirely reformed child of the sixties...
--reviewer #135980, 2009
Pete & Pete are awesome. I trust them completely. They do
great work and keep the costs down - won't do anything that
doesn't need doing and will check and fix little things
often without charge. Just wish they worked on American
cars too!
